Inside the forest of the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore there are ten chapels created by international designers, a true architectural enchantment.
Architects from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Chile, Serbia and Paraguay have created a building for the XVI International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. They based their work on Gunnar Asplund’s Woodland Chapel, built for the Skogskyrkogården cemetery in Stockholm in 1920. This gave rise to Vatican Chapels.
As you walk through the small forest, listen to the audio guide and enjoy an original soundtrack composed by Antonio Fresa and performed by the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice.
